Totes, a Child's Purse and a Shawl

Well it's been a little bit of time since I updated the blog; but a lot has been going on with me and my schedule. I went to the Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty with Kathy and Harry for a few days the first part of May. It was held in Gettsyburg, PA. A lovely city and lots to do too! We enjoyed our stay and Rosie, our Bernese Mountain Dog - got a show ribbon and award! It was the first time Harry went to a dog show and I think he enjoyed it. Kathy and I, of course, always enjoy the shows. Also, Kathy, has had to have some procedures in preparation for open heart surgery - so we have been a bit busy. But I did get pictures taken of things I made before all this happened just haven't had a chance to share them. Well here they are!

First is my offerings for an exchange I joined in on one of my swap groups. This was fun. I made my partner a tote bag and filled it with goodies for her.

Then after my partner received it - and liked it.....her twin sister liked it too....so I made her a bag as well!

And next is another tote I made, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet - probably send it as a swap item for a future swap. Just really enjoying making these totes.

Next are pictures of a shawl I made for another swap - I made it with Caron Simply Soft yarn in Permission. I think it came out really pretty and the shawl can be worn in so many ways. I've show two ways here.

Last to share for today is a child's purse I made - it was a fun item to make!

Queen Victoria crocheted and promoted it by doing these lovely works of art - simple but elegant crocheted scarves/sashes for soldiers! Enjoy!!

It's me again back with some more completed projects. First is tea cozy I made for a friend - it is similiar in colors to the other one I made a while back - but thought I'd share it anyways! I got the pattern on line by searching for Tea Cozy.

Second is a bunch of daisies I made also for a friend. They are a bit top heavy and I think I will change them if I do them again to make sure that doesn't happen. The person is pleased and is going to work out something to make them stand taller. If you bend the stems in half they stand a bit better. This is a pattern from Lily - the cotton yarn manufacturer.

Third are two flower squares. The pink and purple centered on is from a book but the other one is from Luba Davis - you can find her patterns on etsy! They are very well written and she has some lovely squares and other items for sale as patterns.

Last is a tote bag for me! It is from Crochet! Magazine - from a set called A Day at the Beach - I really like how long and roomy it is - it fits great with me in my wheelchair. And it's pink so of course I love it!

Sandwich Dishcloth, Roses and a Square

I had so much fun making this first item - well items - I made two slices of bread dishcloths and then an egg shaped dishcloth for a swap - I am still laughing over it - hope you laugh too! I found both patterns on the web by searching for Bread Dishcloth and Egg Dishcloth (the egg was actually an amigurami with the yolk part stuffed but I adapted it).

This next picture is of the egg on the bread.



And, finally, here is the Egg Sandwich!!

Next is a bunch of dark red roses I made for a friend. The pattern is called Long Stemmed Roses and I found it through a google search.



And finally is a square I made for a swap. I took an afghan pattern and just made the one square, but did it Tunisian Crochet. This was my first try at changing colors - I had a few issues - but the receiver says its lovely - so I'll take her word for it! The pattern was called Bunny Square I think - I didn't save it - but I found it through a google search.

Just Two Scarves

Hello, just popping in with two new scarves I made.

The first is a Bunny Peep Scarf I made for my heart niece, Haileigh. I did it in bright yellow. The pattern is from Etsy - it's called "Coco Scarf by Rebecca Glaze" - enjoyable pattern!



And second is a Frilly Scarf. This is from the Red Heart Sashay Yarn and is the pattern that you can get from Red Heart for the scarf - it is pattern number LW2750 Frilly Crochet Scarf. It's sort of odd to get used to working with this ribbon style yarn, but once you get it - it's actually very easy!

Squares, Ami and Monkey Hat!

The first completed items I wanted to share is six - 12" flower themed squares for one of my friends on my swapping list.







Next is another flower square for a swap I am doing. But I mostly took the picture to show the friend who made me the blocking board! So I can make sure my 12" squares are actually 12"!!! I love it!



By the way, all of the flower squares are free patterns on line - search for flower square and you will find a LOT of them!

Next is a little kitty amigurami I made for a gift for a friend. The pattern I found on line - it is called ChiChi Kitty.



And last, but no way lease, is a Monkey Hat I made for my heart nephew! I so enjoyed making it! Also, this was a free pattern - I searched for Monkey Hat and found one that was available in all sizes!

Couch and some St. Patrick's Day Items

Just a few items I had forgotten I hadn't yet posted!

This first one is a Kleenex Box Tissue Cover Isn't it the cutest? Looks like a comfy couch! The pattern is from Annie's Attic.



Next is a Shamrock Dishcloth. This pattern is from the Lily - Sugar and Cream website.



And finally this is a Saint Patrick's Day Door Decoration! Thanks to my SIL Kathy and my husband Harry, they cut out the insert of wood in the shape of the hat for me to crochet around, and then Harry added the hanging hooks and wire for it to be hung on the door! Isn't it great? It could be decorated in so many ways! I found the pattern in Crochet! magazine.
