Two Baby Blankets and A Clam Family

I have a few shares for today.

First is a baby blanket I made for the NICU of a hospital near a friend. She donates items to them and I sent her a few blankets to add to her gift. The blanket is from this site - Baby Car Blanket

Next is a weave looking blanket. This is from a Leisure Arts book that I currently can't find - but if I do I will share the booklet's name.

And last for today is a clam family! There are two blue boys and two pink girls! I am trying to name them, but so far can't seem to come up with names that fit them. One girl and one boy will be leaving our little family soon to take a trip all the way from our home in Tennessee to meet their new family in New Hampshire. The girls are very special due to their rare gold sparkled shells and the boys, being a rare blue, also with those gold sparkled shells are extremely rare and sought after - but they will be safe with our friends/family and we know they will be well loved for years to come.

The yarn is gorgeous Red Heart Shimmer and the pattern is called "Clarence the Clam" and is available on Etsy.

Basket, Bear Ami and Baby Blanket

Hi there! It has been a bit but I have been busy with things away from crafts for a bit - but all is okay now. First is a basket I made for a friend. It was my own design by the flower is from Bonita Patterns - it is called Croco Flower.

Next is a little baby bear I made for another friend. I found the pattern at Crafty Expressions. Mine didn't even come close to hers but the friend said she liked it, so hopefully it's all okay in the end.

And last is a blanket I made for a NICU unit. A friend of mine donates a bunch of items to them monthly and I offered to make a few items for her to add to the box. I found this pattern at Lisa Lately's Blog. She called the blanket Easy Baby Blanket.

Some Other Crafts and a Crocheted Basket

I have been working on some things that are not crocheted. I had fun with these projects.

First is a set of dog magnets. Plastic Canvas and I think they look like a little Scottie and Westie looking at each other.



Second is a little needlepoint of a hummingbird. It has some pretty colors, I think.



Third is a set of two coasters for a friend/swapper with her initial from her last name cross stitched. They are done in purple, which is one her favorite colors.



Fourth is a plant hanger also for a friend/swapper. It is done in cotton yarn that is called Spring Meadow. It is yellow, brown, green and white variegated. It's holding my plant for the picture.



And last for right now, is a basket I made. There is no pattern for this - I just did what I thought looked nice.

Totes, a Child's Purse and a Shawl

Well it's been a little bit of time since I updated the blog; but a lot has been going on with me and my schedule. I went to the Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty with Kathy and Harry for a few days the first part of May. It was held in Gettsyburg, PA. A lovely city and lots to do too! We enjoyed our stay and Rosie, our Bernese Mountain Dog - got a show ribbon and award! It was the first time Harry went to a dog show and I think he enjoyed it. Kathy and I, of course, always enjoy the shows. Also, Kathy, has had to have some procedures in preparation for open heart surgery - so we have been a bit busy. But I did get pictures taken of things I made before all this happened just haven't had a chance to share them. Well here they are!

First is my offerings for an exchange I joined in on one of my swap groups. This was fun. I made my partner a tote bag and filled it with goodies for her.

Then after my partner received it - and liked it.....her twin sister liked it too....so I made her a bag as well!

And next is another tote I made, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet - probably send it as a swap item for a future swap. Just really enjoying making these totes.

Next are pictures of a shawl I made for another swap - I made it with Caron Simply Soft yarn in Permission. I think it came out really pretty and the shawl can be worn in so many ways. I've show two ways here.

Last to share for today is a child's purse I made - it was a fun item to make!

It's me again back with some more completed projects. First is tea cozy I made for a friend - it is similiar in colors to the other one I made a while back - but thought I'd share it anyways! I got the pattern on line by searching for Tea Cozy.

Second is a bunch of daisies I made also for a friend. They are a bit top heavy and I think I will change them if I do them again to make sure that doesn't happen. The person is pleased and is going to work out something to make them stand taller. If you bend the stems in half they stand a bit better. This is a pattern from Lily - the cotton yarn manufacturer.

Third are two flower squares. The pink and purple centered on is from a book but the other one is from Luba Davis - you can find her patterns on etsy! They are very well written and she has some lovely squares and other items for sale as patterns.

Last is a tote bag for me! It is from Crochet! Magazine - from a set called A Day at the Beach - I really like how long and roomy it is - it fits great with me in my wheelchair. And it's pink so of course I love it!

Sandwich Dishcloth, Roses and a Square

I had so much fun making this first item - well items - I made two slices of bread dishcloths and then an egg shaped dishcloth for a swap - I am still laughing over it - hope you laugh too! I found both patterns on the web by searching for Bread Dishcloth and Egg Dishcloth (the egg was actually an amigurami with the yolk part stuffed but I adapted it).

And, finally, here is the Egg Sandwich!!

Next is a bunch of dark red roses I made for a friend. The pattern is called Long Stemmed Roses and I found it through a google search.



And finally is a square I made for a swap. I took an afghan pattern and just made the one square, but did it Tunisian Crochet. This was my first try at changing colors - I had a few issues - but the receiver says its lovely - so I'll take her word for it! The pattern was called Bunny Square I think - I didn't save it - but I found it through a google search.
