As usual, Many items!

Lots to share today - I am truly behind on adding things to the blog - but it takes a while to get someone to help me with pictures - but I hope it was worth the wait!

First is a little blue gnome. These guys are so cute, I leave them at hotel rooms with a little note about them and hope that the cleaning person enjoys them and smiles. I've also left them in other places as well and enjoy trying to find a spot to watch them be found by their new family! You can find the pattern here: Simple Gnome



Next is a baby blanket I made. It is a cross stitch crocheted stitch - no pattern - just a stitch I wanted to try out and did a few rows of each color. It is up for sale on my other blog.



Next is a Drop In the Pond afghan. The pattern is by Elizabeth Ham and you can find it on Ravelry under her name or the pattern name. This is also for sale on my other blog.



Next is a monkey lovey. Also known as a snugglie, snuggle, security blanket, etc. this is a small head of a stuffed animal with a small blanket attached to the head. It is for a child to use as a security blanket or lovey to carry around with them. He can be washed and dried with the regular clothes and be given back to the child as soon as he is clean and spiffy again. It is a pattern I found on line searching for lovey. I made it for a friend for her new great grand child.



Next is some napkin rings I made for a swap. I did a search for napkin rings, and got some ideas and sort of did this up on my own - no true pattern.



Next is ripple lapghan I made for one of the local nursing homes. The picture doesn't do the color justice - it is a bright green called limelight - very shocking and the lady that received it loves it!



And last for today, is a little row counter I made. One of my friends on a crochet group, shared this adorable little tool with us and it took me a bit but I finally was able to make one for myself. It is just a thin dowel with wooden beads that you move to the right and left to help you keep count of your rows as you are crocheting.

Well I have been saving up and I have a few things to share. Some are holiday themed, some are older items that I could not share till they were "gifted" to the person who received them, and some are just things I forgot to post! Here they are in no order whatsoever......

First is a bunch of 12" squares for two tote bags that were being given to the list leaders of one of my groups. I used various patterns found on the internet.

Next is an outfit I made for a 5" itty bitty baby doll I received as a gift. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to - but it looks okay for a first try at something like this - especially this little.

Next is a plastic bag holder I made for a friend for her grandchild's nursery room. It came from a leaflet entitled "Bag Ladies" - I did make some changes to the pattern.

Next is a Lovey - also called a snuggie, snugglie, etc. It is for a child to carry and cuddle. I grew up calling them security blankets. This pattern is from an etsy shop called Petals to Picots.

Next is a scarf I have made many times. I call it the "Rose Folded Scarf" because someone shared on a blog or Facebook that you could roll it up and it looks like a Rose! I think it does and it makes a stunning gift. It was from a Joann's tear off sheet pattern.

Next is a chicken shaped discloth. I saw a charted pattern on a foreign language website and tried it out - I haven't worked out all the kinks on it but I hope to soon. I've lost the website address - but I'm trying to find it again to share.

Next is another dishcloth. It is one from Maggie's Crochet - called Swirl. I liked working it up.

This is a sweet and easy shawl to make. I made if for someone going through a hard time. You can find the pattern at Popelkalida. I show a full back view and then a back view of it folded around the person.

Next is my Pumpkin House. I had a lot of fun making this for my holiday decor. I got the pattern at this shop Crafts for Angels Designs

And last is my Teddy Bear filet baby blanket. It is from a book I've had for years, but to be honest I have the page copied out and I can't remember which book it is from! I will look and see if I can update this post with the name of the book.

Two Baby Blankets and A Clam Family

I have a few shares for today.

First is a baby blanket I made for the NICU of a hospital near a friend. She donates items to them and I sent her a few blankets to add to her gift. The blanket is from this site - Baby Car Blanket

Next is a weave looking blanket. This is from a Leisure Arts book that I currently can't find - but if I do I will share the booklet's name.

And last for today is a clam family! There are two blue boys and two pink girls! I am trying to name them, but so far can't seem to come up with names that fit them. One girl and one boy will be leaving our little family soon to take a trip all the way from our home in Tennessee to meet their new family in New Hampshire. The girls are very special due to their rare gold sparkled shells and the boys, being a rare blue, also with those gold sparkled shells are extremely rare and sought after - but they will be safe with our friends/family and we know they will be well loved for years to come.

The yarn is gorgeous Red Heart Shimmer and the pattern is called "Clarence the Clam" and is available on Etsy.

Basket, Bear Ami and Baby Blanket

Hi there! It has been a bit but I have been busy with things away from crafts for a bit - but all is okay now. First is a basket I made for a friend. It was my own design by the flower is from Bonita Patterns - it is called Croco Flower.

Next is a little baby bear I made for another friend. I found the pattern at Crafty Expressions. Mine didn't even come close to hers but the friend said she liked it, so hopefully it's all okay in the end.

And last is a blanket I made for a NICU unit. A friend of mine donates a bunch of items to them monthly and I offered to make a few items for her to add to the box. I found this pattern at Lisa Lately's Blog. She called the blanket Easy Baby Blanket.

Cupcake Hat, African Hexagon Flowers, etc.

Well of course, I have some more completed projects! First is a Cupcake Hat I made for my heart niece. The first view is it standing up and the second view is it laying flat. It is black for the wrapper, pink for the 'cupcake' and a red cherry on top! I found the pattern on line - just look for cupcake hat. I forgot to save the link - sorry.





Next is another beanie for my heart niece. It is a pretty blue and green mottled yarn - very soft. Just a simple double crochet.



Next are a bunch of African Hexagon Flowers I made for a friend on one of my swap lists - I do so hope she likes them and can use them for her projects. It was a blast to match these colors up. You can find the pattern at African Flower



And last is my started Christmas Lapghan. I received two squares a month from members of my swap group - it is so pretty - I have four more to add - but had to share -it's so gorgeous!! And it's all MINE!!

Teddy Bear Blankie!

This was a project - Well a fun one but a learning experience to the differences in baby yarns. I thought all baby yarns were the same, NOT!!!! So with that in mind, when I put the squares together they became an Irregular Teddy Bear! But now that I have learned that the one I am making next will be right on target - I hope. The pattern was found on the way back machine and was more of a guide than a true pattern, so I did it my way and I think it's came out okay other than the lining up of the squares.

Wow lots of stuff to share today!

Well first I changed back to the other layout with some things here and there tweaked - I didn't like that other one, all my side bar items had disappeared!

Okay now onto my newest stack of completed projects!

First is a scrap shawl - I got the pattern at Scrap Shawl It is a great way to use up those medium to large size balls of leftover yarn! It came out very pretty and it is being donated to one of the nursing home residents.



Next is another 12 Point Round Ripple - I love this pattern - I've used it often. Round Ripple I did this one in peach and cream - I'm calling it Creamscile! The yarn has a little sparkle in it and it's so pretty!



Next is an Angel Wings Shawl - I made this for my partner in the Handmade Gift Exchange - from my previous posts - I do so hope she likes it. You can find the pattern at Angel Wings Shawl I did it in a soft white but I did change the edging a bit.



And next is one of a set of two Toddler length scarves I made for one of the ladies on my swap list. She had requested them as a Wishing Well Item - it was fun to do these up - I hope she likes them.



Next is a purple beanie for one of my heart nieces - I've got a few more in the works for her!



Next is another shawl I made with Bulky Yarn - no pattern just did what I saw in my head - it was also donated to the nursing home.



And finally for today is a Christmas Tree Door Decoration! You can find the pattern at Christmas Tree I made it for a swap partner.

Scarf, Tiny Blanket, Cupcake Bear, and a Gift!

I do love coming up with titles for these posts! Never know what or how to say it so hope it makes you smile!

Today I am sharing a scarf I made - the yarn is Boucle - I never worked with it before - it is lovely, soft, and so warm. I held two strands one blue and one brown together - I think it came out very pretty. Just a double crochet nothing fancy wanted the yarn to show.



Second is a little tiny blanket I made - could be a preemie or a doll blanket. It's soft pink with little filet hearts.



Third is the Diamond Point Blanket. I love making this pattern it really showcases pretty colors of yarn. Sorry to say the color doesn't show well in this picture. It is lavender - Red Heart's lavender.

And finally is a picture of the gifts I received from my Friends Group on Yahoo. Starlett sent me these lovely dishcloths and the most wonderful and beautiful scarf.

Update on Basket Blanket and Sophia!

Hi all! I've got lots of projects in process at the moment, but not a lot to share that are finished. But I wanted to take a minute and share an updated photo of the process for the basket blanket. This is being made for a friend and will be a lap sized afghan. I am working it in Delft Blue and Soft White both from Red Heart Yarn. I have used two skeins so far of the Delft Blue and it measures approximately 22" so far. The next two pictures are of the afghan as it is right now. I placed a yardstick on it so you can see how large it is. The second photo shows a close up the stitch!






And my little "puppy", well she is 3 years old, Sophia - got her first professional grooming job done! She is a fluffy fluffy dog - but after this grooming she is sleek other than her tail! She looked a bit funny to me at first but I am getting to used it! It was done at Grooming Taxi in Mosheim, TN. Kathy won a prize for her dogs in the Pet Parade at her work for a free grooming - she used it to get Sophia groomed for me! I think Sophia is happy though - and no more dew on her belly from her morning run in the yard!

Shawl and 2nd Part of the New Project

I finally finished the Small Talk Shawl I was making for myself. Sorry to say I didn't have enough of the yarn to complete the edging that the designer did so I had to improvise an edging. The pattern can be found on Ravelry - the shawl is called "Small Talk Shawl". I used Stella yarn by Tamm - it is sort of a sports weight yarn with this little thread of sparkles running through it. You can't see the sparkle at all in the picture and the color didn't show up well either! I hope to update the picture soon. It is peach colored sort of a bright peach with a little silvery sparkle running through it!

Now onto the 2nd part of the new project that I will be sharing step by step what I am doing. So, I am making a basket stitch blanket with some modifications. The pattern can be found at Basket Stitch Blanket. The pattern is for a baby blanket. Since I want to make this more of a lapghan I chained 140 chains instead of what the pattern states for the baby blanket size. This will give me, with an edging approximately 48” wide lapghan. I am using a size “H” crochet hook. Below is a picture of the first few rows so you can see what it looks like as we go along. I probably won't be posting any more steps for a bit, since I will be working on this lapghan off and on over the next few months. I'm not truly sure how long I will make it. I will use my husband (who is 6 foot tall) to measure how long I want the lapghan. A lapghan is usually to cover you from about your waist to your feet. I want it just a little bit longer so the person can sort of wrap themselves in it but it will only be wide enough to cover one person.
