And finally my Valentine Swap for my partner. I made the doily and the roses - I hope she likes it! I added some candy to it as well - so she gets flowers and candy for Valentine's day! Hi there - back with a few completed projects as well as some pictures of my youngest cat.

First is an Offset Shell Shawl I made. I found the pattern here Offset Shell Shawl

Next is a heart shaped dishcloth. I found this pattern through a Crochet A Long on Ravelry.

Next is a little Crochet A Long I hosted on one of my groups. It was for this adorable heart doll. I found the pattern here Heart Shaped Baby Doll

And finally are two pictures of my Baby Brat Butler - he only has three legs. When he was a kitten he was caught in a car and lost the back right leg. You would never know he was disabled - he runs like the wind! We call him Low Rider sometimes when he runs. Here he is in two poses - sitting on an empty pizza box!

Doodles, Cover and Shawl

A few more finished things to share - took these pictures a bit ago and then promptly; forgot them! First is a Pompadoodle yarn scarf - really weird stuff to work with but it did come out nice, maybe?

Next is another casserole cover - it's in variegated brown, black and white. I've shared this pattern in the past - very nice and quick to make.

And last for now is another shawl I made for one of the residents at the local nursing home. It is done in Lion Brand Homespun yarn - very soft and fluffy!

More projects and a Christmas Lapghan

I am back with more completed items. First is a purple and white wine bottle cover. Makes a great gift wrap idea. You can find the pattern at Wine Bottle Cover

Next is a little heart doily I made for a friend on one of my lists. You can find the pattern at Heart Doily

Next is a cornflower blue with silver thread running through it that I made for myself- this pattern was from an old magazine.

Next is a square I made from a pattern from The Needlecrafter Shop - it was a collectors series that I received in the mail years ago. I made it slightly bigger than the original pattern - I wanted it to be a 12" square.

And finally and the most treasured item I have right now - is my Christmas lapghan. I was in a swap for months sharing Christmas colored squares with other swappers - I put mine together for myself - first lapghan for just me! I love it - and I can not take any credit but that I sewed them together!

Cupcake Hat, African Hexagon Flowers, etc.

Well of course, I have some more completed projects! First is a Cupcake Hat I made for my heart niece. The first view is it standing up and the second view is it laying flat. It is black for the wrapper, pink for the 'cupcake' and a red cherry on top! I found the pattern on line - just look for cupcake hat. I forgot to save the link - sorry.

Next is another beanie for my heart niece. It is a pretty blue and green mottled yarn - very soft. Just a simple double crochet.

Next are a bunch of African Hexagon Flowers I made for a friend on one of my swap lists - I do so hope she likes them and can use them for her projects. It was a blast to match these colors up. You can find the pattern at African Flower

And last is my started Christmas Lapghan. I received two squares a month from members of my swap group - it is so pretty - I have four more to add - but had to share -it's so gorgeous!! And it's all MINE!!

Teddy Bear Blankie!

This was a project - Well a fun one but a learning experience to the differences in baby yarns. I thought all baby yarns were the same, NOT!!!! So with that in mind, when I put the squares together they became an Irregular Teddy Bear! But now that I have learned that the one I am making next will be right on target - I hope. The pattern was found on the way back machine and was more of a guide than a true pattern, so I did it my way and I think it's came out okay other than the lining up of the squares.

Well first I changed back to the other layout with some things here and there tweaked - I didn't like that other one, all my side bar items had disappeared!

Okay now onto my newest stack of completed projects!

First is a scrap shawl - I got the pattern at Scrap Shawl It is a great way to use up those medium to large size balls of leftover yarn! It came out very pretty and it is being donated to one of the nursing home residents.

Next is another 12 Point Round Ripple - I love this pattern - I've used it often. Round Ripple I did this one in peach and cream - I'm calling it Creamscile! The yarn has a little sparkle in it and it's so pretty!

Next is an Angel Wings Shawl - I made this for my partner in the Handmade Gift Exchange - from my previous posts - I do so hope she likes it. You can find the pattern at Angel Wings Shawl I did it in a soft white but I did change the edging a bit.

And next is one of a set of two Toddler length scarves I made for one of the ladies on my swap list. She had requested them as a Wishing Well Item - it was fun to do these up - I hope she likes them.

Next is a purple beanie for one of my heart nieces - I've got a few more in the works for her!

Next is another shawl I made with Bulky Yarn - no pattern just did what I saw in my head - it was also donated to the nursing home.

And finally for today is a Christmas Tree Door Decoration! You can find the pattern at Christmas Tree I made it for a swap partner.

Angel Baby Afghan, Oatmeal Scarf and Owl Tote Bag

I am very proud of this first item. It's an angel afghan. I got the pattern in one of the crochet magazines. It was a nice pattern to work up and I really like the finished product!

Next is a scarf - of course! The pattern is called "Fearless" and I found it on line.

And last for today is an Owl Tote bag. I also found this pattern in one of the crochet magazines. It even has two inside pockets as well! Great eye catching tote for you or a child!

Oh and I just got the sweetest gift from a fellow crochet member. A tote bag from the Cafe Press website - it's a canvas tote bag - and the graphic on it says "I'm working on my PhD" and then below "Projects Half Done!" I love it! And it is so true I'm always working on half done things!

Scarf, Tiny Blanket, Cupcake Bear, and a Gift!

I do love coming up with titles for these posts! Never know what or how to say it so hope it makes you smile!

Today I am sharing a scarf I made - the yarn is Boucle - I never worked with it before - it is lovely, soft, and so warm. I held two strands one blue and one brown together - I think it came out very pretty. Just a double crochet nothing fancy wanted the yarn to show.

Second is a little tiny blanket I made - could be a preemie or a doll blanket. It's soft pink with little filet hearts.

Third is the Diamond Point Blanket. I love making this pattern it really showcases pretty colors of yarn. Sorry to say the color doesn't show well in this picture. It is lavender - Red Heart's lavender.

Tom Turkey and Loaf Pan Tote

Just two items today that I finished. The first is a little amigurami - he is called Tom the Turkey. It was so much fun to make this little guy - and very easy too!

Halloween Items and Cup Caddy

Here are some more items I've worked up lately.

The first is a little Halloween basket, with a ghost and bat! All the items were free on line - I just looked for Halloween crochet patterns. Sorry the picture is so dark.

Next is a Cup Caddy. You can use it for hooks, pens, pencils, tools, etc. I am really happy with the way they came out and I have a bunch more to make!!

Next is a picture of just the yellow one with some items in it so you can see how they can be used.

And next is a picture of just the blue one. This one gave me a little bit of trouble, the yarn was nubby so I had a hard time finding some of the stitches to work into! But it all worked out in the end. Again with items so you can see it's versatility.

Shawl, Nerdle the Turtle and C.D.Corn

Now isn't that an odd Title for this post! Giggling all the way!!!

Here I am again with more completed projects. First is a shawl I made for one of the local nursing home residents. I began to follow a pattern and then didn't like it so changed it along the way and of course I didn't write anything down, but it is just a simple double crochet and chains with my imagination kicked in here and there!

Two pictures - one shown fully spread out and one wrapped around the person.

Next is a little dishcloth I made. The pattern was a free bonus with an order from a online store. I need to remember which one!

Next is my version of Nerdle the Turtle dishcloth and coasters! This pattern was found on Ravelry - it is a purchase pattern but very reasonable! I think they came out adorable - but I'm partial to turtles!

And last for this post is C.D.Corn - I found this pattern on line! As I was making him, I couldn't stop laughing! He is just so funny looking to me! And he looked so mad till I sewed on the smile! Hope you makes you laugh as much as he made me laugh!

Stuff for ME! and some other things too!

I finished two shawls and a vest for me! I am so happy with each of these - each one is special for a different reason.

The first is the Magnificent Mantle pattern - I did it in eldeberry merino wool! It is so soft and so cuddly. It's a soft light purple color. The pattern can be found HERE The first picture shows you the shawl fully spread out and the next picture shows you what it looks like in the front and I think it shows you a better view of the color. I did leave off a few rows on the bottom since I was running low on this wool!

Next is 1970's style vest. I did it in Red Heart Soft the color is called Waterscape. It's blues and browns. You can find the pattern HERE

Next is the yarn I got from the shop on Etsy called Yarns of Italy - I love their stuff. It's gorgeous yarn, soft and squishy and so beautiful to crochet! The pattern is called January Snow Day Scarf (but you can increase the width for a shawl versus a scarf. I'm sorry I don't have the link, but if you search for that name you should be able to find it.

Next are some more scarves. First is another version of the Windowpane Scarf I shared in a previous post.

Next is a scarf made of a russet soft wool - it's very pretty and so soft!

And last of the scarves is one called Shell Scarf - I think I may have shared this before but it was still in the file so I'm sending it through again!

And finally for this post is my swap items that I made for a Halloween swap. There is a little Ami ghost, a small spider that can be hung up by some fishing line and a little candy basket. Sorry the picture isn't that great but it was overcast and raining and the house was dark.

First item to share is some close up pictures of the flowers that I added to the Basket Blanket. These flowers are so easy to make and make great little add ons to different items. You can find the pattern at Croco Flower

Next is the Mesa Bag I finally learned how to fold! You can get the pattern at Masa Bag and you can find the link there for the folding instructions as well.

And last for this post - is this cute little Teddy Security Blanket - well it's not really a blanket just small enough for a child to hold and drag around with them. I made it in cotton that if it is used, I hope, by a small child, they could "chew" on it as they usually do, drag it around, etc. It can be machine washed, gentle cycle or course.

Update on the Lapghan Process and some completed things

Update on the Lapghan process - the lapghan main color is done as is the edging! Below is a picture of it! I think it came out very nice and it is so warm. The color looks more realistic in the 2nd picture - the sun darkened the color in this first picture.

This picture is a close up of the basket stitch and the edging. Next step is the flowers for the corners.

Next item now in the completed category is a 100% wool afghan. These little skeins were small and I had many of them - then I also used 100% wool in white and cornmeal for the edging. This yarn was a donation to me for the items I make for our local nursing home. This lapghan will be delivered tomorrow to it's new owner!

Next is another baby ripple afghan - I did this one with baby weight yarn. It is so pretty! It is going up for sale on my Facebook page!

Next is a simple lace weave scarf - otherwise known as a skinny scarf. Very easy and very quick. I like the color and texture of this yarn - very soft! I think my heart sister will love it.

And last is a little pot protector I got to test the pattern - it separates your pots from one another when you stack them in the cabinet - that way they don't scratch the inside of the pot or pan.

Yarn Holder, Squares and Christmas in August!

Hi there - I'm back again with some more completed projects!

First is a yarn ball holder - it also works for small round cones of doily thread. I can hang it on a hook or on the arm of the chair or even my arm! There is an opening on either side to thread the yarn through so it doesn't tangle. I made it in medium gray yarn. This is for me! But I think I might make some to share with some friends who also crochet. The first picture shows it flat on the table. And the second picture shows it hanging up on a wall with it threaded with yarn.

Next is a Halloween colors square I made for a swap. I had fun with this yarn with the silver running through it - makes it sparkly and spooky at the same time. I found the pattern on Ravelry at Cat's Claw

What else? More completed projects!

Okay let's see what I've got to share - first just some more squares that I have been working on for swaps. This one is just a simple granny type square.

This next picture is of Christmas squares for a swap. I am so enjoying creating and receiving these swaps!

Next two items are some bath poufs I am working on for a spa swap as well just to make them for stash and gifts. I found both patterns by looking for bath crocheted items.

The first one is a flower shaped pouf that I really like!

The second is a pouf more like the nylon ones you get in the store - this was a bit hard to for me to make - well really more time consuming. You do 27 loops and then put 10 loops in each of the 27 loops! For a total of 270 loops - YIKES! Busy work! But it did come out nice!

Next, of course, are some more scarves! I've decided to call myself "The Scarf Princess!" The first one is for my heart sister. It is called Medallion Scarf and was in one of the crochet magazines.

The next one is called Lush Lace Scarf and I bought it on line through Sweater Babe It works up very quickly and is great for that one lonely skein you have left of something! Or maybe splurge and buy one of those hand dyed skeins and enjoy yourself! This is a surprise for someone on a swap so I can't say who! It's a secret - SSSSHHHHHHH!

And last for this post is a tote bag I also made for a swap - the person I got likes autumn colors so I hope she likes it. I'm a little nervous about it. I added a line of leaves and the flower to the side of the bag. I got the pattern for the tote at Crochet Tote Bag I got the pattern for the flower on another site - the link is one of my old posts - it is called Crocus Flower.

Update on Basket Blanket and Sophia!

Hi all! I've got lots of projects in process at the moment, but not a lot to share that are finished. But I wanted to take a minute and share an updated photo of the process for the basket blanket. This is being made for a friend and will be a lap sized afghan. I am working it in Delft Blue and Soft White both from Red Heart Yarn. I have used two skeins so far of the Delft Blue and it measures approximately 22" so far. The next two pictures are of the afghan as it is right now. I placed a yardstick on it so you can see how large it is. The second photo shows a close up the stitch!

And my little "puppy", well she is 3 years old, Sophia - got her first professional grooming job done! She is a fluffy fluffy dog - but after this grooming she is sleek other than her tail! She looked a bit funny to me at first but I am getting to used it! It was done at Grooming Taxi in Mosheim, TN. Kathy won a prize for her dogs in the Pet Parade at her work for a free grooming - she used it to get Sophia groomed for me! I think Sophia is happy though - and no more dew on her belly from her morning run in the yard!

Various Stuff Completed!

Well Hi again! I have been a busy girl over the past few days and have a lot to share! First are two dishcloths. The first one is a Round Dishcloth - I took a pattern that was made for front post double crochets - left them off and just did as a round dishcloth without those stitches - so there is no pattern for the first one.

The second one is a square dishcloth - I got this in a booklet of patterns from Ravelry. It was a purchased pattern booklet.

I am still working on 12" squares for different exchanges and trying out new patterns. The first picture the square on the left is called "Robbie's Angel" and I added a flower motif to make the center of the square POP! The square on the right is called "Esther's Square" and I found the pattern on line

Next two squares. The one on the left is called Kaleidoscope Blossom and I found it on line. And on the right another Robbie's Angel square with another flower embellishment in the middle

The next square is called Bloomin Lace and I found the pattern on line The yarn I used for the white petals may not have been a good choice - as it looks more like the Sun to me than a flower!

And next is a Butterfly Square - if you look closely the little open sections look like the wings of a butterfly! I also found this pattern on line - it is called Butterfly Square.

I got involved in a chemo hat drive for a designer I like on line. She sells on Etsy and posts on Facebook. Her shop is called RAJK Designs. She makes some lovely hat patterns and various other things. Well I made up a few hats for her chemo hat drive. This was a true blessing to help out in a small way. As of this post she had received 187 hats for the charity! I used just a simple hat pattern and did them up in darker colors in a young boy's size.

Next is a little butterfly bookmark. I found this pattern on line as well. It had a great symbol chart that was wonderfully detailed.

Next is a little walker bag I made for one of the ladies at the nursing home where my sister in law Kathy works. So far I have made a few for the ladies of this nursing home and they are a hit! They are so appreciative of the attention and the personal item just for them.

And last but by no means least is another Jazzie Skinny Scarf - I love this pattern - also free on line. I did this up in a really weird yarn I got. It is called tartan yarn and is blue, red and green in color - but the yarn goes from thread thickness to slightly bulky - it's weird! I pulled from two skeins at once to give it more thickness but it is still very lightweight and airy feeling and looking. I think it came out nice.

Different items!

Well this is a hodge podge of items today to share!

First are two squares I made up for an exchange. I used the square pattern from Robbie's Angel and then added a simple butterfly motif to each square.

Next is an adorable cat bookmark! I found the pattern at Cat Bookmark

Next is a simple ribbed scarf. I got some Homespun Lion Brand Yarn from a friend and didn't know what to do with it. Went to the Lion Brand site and found this pretty scarf pattern - very simple - that uses the texture of this yarn wonderfully! I am calling it ribbed scarf but that is not what the website called it!

Now onto my garden again! Last year my pink calla lily bloomed - this year it is the white one that bloomed! They look so elegant to me!

And last part of the post for today is the box of gifts I sent to my craft exchange partner Eileen in California! Most of the items I have shared on previous posts. I made her a Cascade scarf in white, a lacy summer scarf in yellow, a easy shells scarf in blue, a jazzie skinny scarf in peach, a folded rose scarf in deep red, two hot hats, a dishcloth, a facial scrubbie and mmmm what else was in that box! Too Funny - she has it now and said she was in scarf heaven! So I am happy that she liked them. The craft tote she made for me is a treasured gift. But to be completely honest this new friend I have found in Eileen is the best gift I could have received from this exchange! The tote is just icing on the cake of friendship!

Multiple Scarves

I think I have a thing for scarves! They work up fast, you don't need a lot of yarn and you can make some of the prettiest designs mixing and matching textures! The first one is a Lacy Summer Scarf. I make it skinnier than the pattern stated. You can find the pattern Lacy Summer Scarf

Next is a diagonal stitch scarf. I love this stitch/pattern as you can make from a scarf to a shawl to a blanket! You just keep increasing till it is the size you want. There is an example of it at Diagonal Stitch Scarf

And this one I am calling a Chenille scarf. I got some yarn from a friend and there were these three little partial balls of Chenille yarn. I didn't have a clue what to do with them. So I sat here and had piles of yarn in my lap looking for colors to go together. I picked this brown and the chenille red in the middle. It's just two rows of double crochets on each side with a sort of odd spike stitch with a row of singles and chains between the spike. I think it came out nice with that pop of red in the middle! I hope my heart sister, Martha, likes it!

Next is a scarf for me finally! This is called the Branching Leaves Scarf. I heard the pattern was removed from Ravelry. I made this one in a lightweight fingering yarn in turquoise, it's soft and scrumptious feeling to the touch. You can see I am still working on it! But I'm so glad I finally got the chart worked out!

This is a round ripple throw. I didn't have enough of two of the colors to do the edging that was recommended so I just left it with the last row. You can find that pattern at Round Ripple Afghan

And last but by no means least! Is my gift from exchange partner, Eileen! Isn't is wonderful! It's a tote bag with a hook/tool holder in the front! I love it. It's big enough to carry a large item or a bunch of small ones. But not overwhelming either in size!

Miscellaneous Items Completed

As usual I have a few more finished items to share! This first one is a sweet little necklace. The pattern can be found at Little Flower Necklace

Next is a CAL - Crochet-A-Long we all did on one of my Yahoo groups. The doily is wonderful and can be made as large or as small as you want it but just adding more and more pineapples. I did it in a varigated cotton thread that blues, greens and purples running through it. I am very proud of it! You can find the pattern at Pistilli Pineapple

Next is a little wicker and wire basket I picked up at one of the thrift shops. The wire was loosing some of it's coloring, so I looked at it for a bit and said mmm paint it or just crochet a little liner and crochet around the hearts! I think it came out really nice for an on the fly thing with no pattern! There are two views so you can see it from the top and the front!

Next is a scarf I made. I did it up with this brushed yarn in two shades of blue, white and a soft gold varigated. I think it came out pretty. You can find the pattern here at Windowpane Scarf The nicest thing about this is you can make it skinny or wide - just add rows in the middle!

And finally on one of my Crochet groups on Yahoo - the owner asked us to post a picture of our craft room, or part of our stash of yarn! Since I have three places for it in the house, no true room - even though I should do that someday.....I took out some of the drawers and bags and my picnic box of scraps and snapped a picture of it! Just thought I'd share it with all the other stuff - made me laugh for sure. This is only about a third of what I have in the house!

Bunches of Completed Things!

Well again I have a bunch of things that have been finished!

The first two items are two scarves that I made for an exchange - actually these are the first of five scarves I am making for this exchange. The scarf on the left when folded up looks like a rose! And the one on the right is called Jazzie Skinny Scarf. Both scarves I have made before - and the patterns are noted in those posts.

Now onto to a cutie - well maybe! This is a wish gift for someone on one of my groups. It is a kitty cat that holds plastic bags in her skirt! I'm a bit disappointed in the sewing on the face and the ears - but I suppose everyone sees their own mistakes. The pattern is called Baggy Cat from Crochet World Magazine and I found it on line.

Shawl and 2nd Part of the New Project

I finally finished the Small Talk Shawl I was making for myself. Sorry to say I didn't have enough of the yarn to complete the edging that the designer did so I had to improvise an edging. The pattern can be found on Ravelry - the shawl is called "Small Talk Shawl". I used Stella yarn by Tamm - it is sort of a sports weight yarn with this little thread of sparkles running through it. You can't see the sparkle at all in the picture and the color didn't show up well either! I hope to update the picture soon. It is peach colored sort of a bright peach with a little silvery sparkle running through it!

Now onto the 2nd part of the new project that I will be sharing step by step what I am doing. So, I am making a basket stitch blanket with some modifications. The pattern can be found at Basket Stitch Blanket. The pattern is for a baby blanket. Since I want to make this more of a lapghan I chained 140 chains instead of what the pattern states for the baby blanket size. This will give me, with an edging approximately 48” wide lapghan. I am using a size “H” crochet hook. Below is a picture of the first few rows so you can see what it looks like as we go along. I probably won't be posting any more steps for a bit, since I will be working on this lapghan off and on over the next few months. I'm not truly sure how long I will make it. I will use my husband (who is 6 foot tall) to measure how long I want the lapghan. A lapghan is usually to cover you from about your waist to your feet. I want it just a little bit longer so the person can sort of wrap themselves in it but it will only be wide enough to cover one person. Amiguramis, a doily, a hat and starting a new project!

Well I am beyond happy! Beyond thrilled! I finished three Amigurami's! First is a mushroom that can be a toy or a pincushion. Mine doesn't look that much like the pattern picture but I like it! You can find the pattern here Mushroom

Next is a swan. I purchased this pattern on Etsy from Amy Gaines. I like the way she looks - elegant but with a curiosity. Amy's shop is here Amy Gaines Etsy Shop

Next is a Koala Bear. I am beyond pleased at the way this little guy looks! He is adorable - my humble opinion of course. While I was putting him together we were all laughing. Before his ears and face were done he looked a lot like E.T. The pattern can be found here Koala Bear

And here is a Winnie the Pooh Amigurami I received as a gift! Isn't he the cutest? I love him - he is a treasure as I sure do love Pooh Bear! Because it was a gift I have no access to the pattern sorry - but there are many Pooh and Friends pattern all over the web.

Finally, I am starting a new project and will be "walking" all of you through the process from start to finish! The first part of the project involves a shopping trip for yarn! Here is what I purchased. Five skeins of Red Heart Super Saver in Delft Blue and one large skein of Red Heart Super Saver in Soft White. I will publish the next step in a few days - it will include the pattern, hook size and what I did to make it a bit larger than it's originally written size.

I was told that this Delft Blue looks a lot like the Carolina Blue from the University of North Carolina and the TarHeels!

Projects, Flowers and a Gift from Chris!

Well I'm back again with some more completed projects. The first is a few baby hats I made for the Salvation Army for their winter hat drive. I did these in a variegated yarn in pink, yellow, green and white from my scrap box - I think it was Red Heart Baby Yarn - but I'm honestly not sure! The patterns were free on line from baby layette sets - I didn't save the patterns as I don't usually make baby hats.

Next is a doily I made for a friend - it is done in Aunt Lydia's #10 Thread in Aqua Blue. The pattern is at: Easy Crochet Doily

Next are some pics of some more flowers in my garden. The first my Aunt Ann said is called Spider's Wort, It has lots of green stalks and the small flowers bloom in bunches in deep purple - it's beautiful! And attracts a lot of butterflies!

Next is the last of my cream colored Iris' - I will so miss them - they are gorgeous! Even thought the picture looks sort of pinkish they are cream colored - like a soft beige.

And the last picture is a beautiful tea cup and saucer that Chris gave me as a lovely gift when she came to visit from Alabama. I love it - it's on my fireplace mantle in a place of honor! I will treasure it forever!

Gift for A Sweet Lady

I was so honored to be paired up with Nancy for an Afghan Exchange. She sent me the most delightful and beautiful afghan (pictures are in the post below this one) and I got to create for her this afghan. It is a basket stitch afghan that I turned on it's side! So I called it the On The Side Basket! I embellished it with flowers. The afghan pattern is a baby sized afghan pattern that I doubled and turned on the side.

A beautiful gift and some completed projects

I am so honored and humbled too by this beautiful gift - I received the most gorgeous, luxurious, beautiful, soft and Pink blanket from my friend Nancy! Nancy and I were in a Springtime Afghan Exchange - this is the blanket she sent me. It's pink with some white and little bits of blue running through it. It is so beautiful! I am using it all the time - Harry even calls it my Nancy ghan! Thanks Nancy for the sweetest gift ever!

Now I'll change gears and show you some more of my completed projects. Most are small items that were quick and easy to make.

The first item is a little soap saver - you can use it for a full bar of soap or for those slivers to save money buying more soap! I did it with cotton. It was a mystery crochet a long and you can find the pattern here: Let's Crochet you will need to look for the Mystery Crochet-A-Long's area.

The next is a little purple bowl. I love little things like this - keeps me organized when working on small projects with buttons or beads. I also did this with cotton. You can find the pattern at Sugar N Cream

Next is a magnet. I crocheted this with cotton thread #10. I am calling her Sunbonnet Sue as that is what I see. But the creator of the pattern called it Susie Q - you can find the pattern for sale at Etsy The pattern is for a kitchen set with potholders and a magnet.

Next is a little item I created from a coaster I saw in a catalog. I created it with cotton. I haven't perfected the pattern but I hope to soon and to be able to share it when it's done.

Next is a pattern I was testing for the designer. The designer has not yet shared the pattern with the public - when she does it will be here at this site Smooth Fox It is called Baby Love Blankie. I did it in Red Heart Super Saver in White and some yarn from my old stash from Wintuk (now known as Caron) in Christmas Green. And one row of Red Heart Super Saver Blue.

My Iris' Have Finally Bloomed!

Well it took a few years but my Iris' have finally bloomed! These bulbs were a gift from an elderly couple who lived up the road from us. When we moved in they were so welcoming and so sweet! The lady offered me a lot of bulbs and to be honest they got lost in the landscape due to a mistake. Well we found them about four years ago and replanted them up closer to the house. Well they hadn't bloomed for the past three years! Last year both of these lovely sweet people passed away and my heart was broken! The husband died first from a heart attack and the wife died two days after he had been buried - the doctors all think of a broken heart. They had been married since they were 16 years old and died in their early 80's! They were the sweetest people and so loving to everyone. Well this year when the blooms started popping all over, my heart swelled, she was looking down and smiling on my blooms to coach them to bloom again! They are lovely - it's an odd sort of color. They are like a soft beige if you could see them up close, with some yellow and dark sort of orange/brown in them. These pictures look a little yellow or peach colored but in real life they are in the color of beige. So far six blooms, and about 12 more buds.

A Shawl, A Scarf and some other stuff too!

Well it's time to show off some of my finished projects!

First is a shawl I made for an exchange on one of my groups. I really like the way it came out. I intend on making one of these for myself soon! I used A Pound of Love in Antique White - I used about 3/4 of the skein. The pattern has a lovely name and is available at Magnificent Mantle

Next is a cute little scrubbie. It can be used for your face or your dishes! I love dual purposes items! I made it with crochet cotton called Blue Ocean. You can find the pattern at Scrubbie. The pattern works up fast!

Next are a couple of dishcloths from Maggie Weldon. They can both be found at Maggie's Crochet. You will have to look through the list of dishcloths - she is offering one a day I believe for a year! I worked both in Peaches and Cream cotton. The first one is called Cross Stitch Dishcloth in Maroon color and the second is called Heart Dishcloth worked in Maroon and White. I'm sorry to say but both dishcloth patterns had a few - well I'll call them issues - with the pattern directions so I did make a few adjustments for both patterns to work for me.

Next is a little item that was supposed to be a coaster - but to me it worked up more the size of a small doily - so I am going to use it that way. It was a pattern for testing I did so it isn't yet available. I crocheted it in #10 thread in soft green.

Next is an adorable, if I say so myself, Baby Blanket. I did it Bernat Baby Sport Yarn in Pink Rose. I used the Large skeins of 1077 yards - one full skein and about 2/3 of the second skein. This is a gift that my heart sister, Martha asked me to make for her new niece! The pattern can be found at Bev's Country Cottage.

And finally, an item I am most proud of making. It is a Luna Lovegood Scarf. Yes, Luna from Harry Potter. It is done in the colors of her house - Ravenclaw! And the yarn I got from Etsy - the creator called it Looney Loves Good Yarn! I love it! I made it for my heart sister, Martha. But trust me I got enough yarn to make one for myself too! The pattern can be found at Luna Lovegood Scarf and the yarn is from Neurotic Knitterz on Etsy I so wish the picture was cleaner and sharper - but if you look at the links for it - both the yarn and the pattern - you will see how beautiful it is with better photos!

Lot of WIP's Done - yup More!!!

My goodness I have a lot of things to share today - so with no further delay - here they are!

First is a Crochet-A-Long (CAL) tote that I did with one of my crochet groups. It's a pretty little tote bag. I did it brown and blue yarn from my scrap box.

Second is an Angel Dishcloth also for an exchange - I did in Peaches and Cream white cotton yarn. The pattern can be found at: Angel Dishcloth

Third is a 12" square I made for a community Comfort Square on one of my yahoo groups to comfort a Mother who lost her little 5 year old daughter. Also made with scrap yarn from my scrap box.

Fourth is another dishcloth - made with cotton yarn in variegated purple. It is called Hexagon Dishcloth - but I can no longer find the website with the pattern.

Fifth is a mug cozy I did for an exchange on one of my Yahoo groups. The pattern can be found at Mug Cozy Also made with scrap yarn from my yarn box.

Sixth is also for an exchange - it's a water bottle cover up. I sized it to fit an Aquafina water bottle. You can find the pattern at: Water Bottle Cover Up It was made with Peaches and Cream Cotton Yarn in burgundy and the flower drawstring was made with white.

Seventh is a set of four cotton coasters - also for an exchange. I made these with mint green yarn from Aunt Lydia's that is now discontinued - but any cotton yarn would do. The pattern was a daily free pattern from JP Fun

Eighth is a potholder for another exchange. Yup I do a lot of exchanges! This pattern came from a Leisure Arts pattern booklet. This was made with cotton yarn in Soft Melon color.

And finally are two 12" squares for another exchange. The patterns are both available on line and the links can be found under the pictures. Both were made with Red Heart Super Save - petal pink and soft blue.

Swirly Twirly Scarf!

Swirly Twirly Scarf

I am so excited! I got to send my heart sister, Martha, a package of scarves! She is love with them all and I am honored to share a picture of her on my blog sporting her new Swirly Twirly Scarf!

I got the pattern from Maize

I did make a few adjustments to the pattern - I chained 400 instead of 200 to make it longer for my very tall heart sis! And I added one extra row of double crochets to make it a bit thicker due to the ribbon type yarn I used for it. I used Ice yarn purchased from Turkey in black! Each skein was approximately 125 yards and I used 2 and 1/2 skeins.

I am so thankful that she likes all the scarves that I have sent her so far (wonder if she knows there are more to come?) Check out the previous posts for pictures and where to get the patterns on the other scarves.

Lots of WIP's - Now Finished!!!

Okay first for those of you that don't know this - WIP - stands for Work In Progress! And I have finished a lot of them! YaY!!! Now onto the finished pictures!

The first is a lacy shawl I made for myself. The pattern is called Tea and Sympathy and I found it on Ravelry. I made it with the blue and turquoise yarn that I used for the Queen Anne's Lace scarf in the post below.

Next are two scarfs - the same pattern but different yarns and colors. This pattern is called Total Torque Scarf. The pattern was part of a free e-book from the Crochet Me website. I made it in Caron's Simply Soft in Autumn Red and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn in Greybeard.

Next is something I am very proud of and very excited to have created! It is a bee - I got the pattern from Amy's Odyssey The pattern is called Bazzill the Buzzing Bumblebee! I am also working on some other projects from her website for my grapevine tree (that is on my wish list). The projects are crocheted leaves and flowers. I love Bazzill. Since the next scarf is nicknamed "The Rose" - I thought Bazzill looked adorable sitting on The Rose! It is not the best to see The Rose in the picture due to the lighting - but it does look like a rose - trust me! It also helps show how if you roll up this scarf it becomes a Rose! Bazzill was made with scraps of yarn in black, yellow and white - All Red Heart yarn. He has two black 9 mm eyes, a red floss smile and two brown pipe cleaner antennae! Isn't he cute? Now I need to make a few more for some friends!

Next is another one of my scarves I am making for my Heart Sister - Martha. Well so is the Total Torque Scarf above - she is getting the greybeard one. This scarf is called the Oriental Fan Scarf and the pattern can be found at: Sandy's Hook I made it with Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn in Antique Teal. I couldn't get a good close up view of the stitches but if you look at Sandy's website you can see the stitches better in her pictures.

Next is a pair of butterfly wrist warmers. I made these for my Heart Sister Martha. When she wore them at work her boss fell in love with them - so here is a set for her too! The pattern is called Taming the Butterfly and can be found at Taming the Butterfly

Next is a bunch of Easter Egg Stands with those little plastic eggs in them. Aren't they precious? The pattern can be found at: ehow.com

And last but by no means least - I was in a doily exchange in one of my crochet groups. I am beyond awed by the beautiful doily I received from Chris. It is lovely and it is PINK! I am thrilled to announce this first completed project - My Heart Nephew - Jason's afghan! He is called JKonn by his Grandmother - Martha my Heart Sister. It was done in Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Cornmeal, Blue and Cherry Red.

The next is the 2nd in a series of scarves I am making for my Heart Sister Martha. This one is called Queen Anne's Lace. I found the pattern through Ravelry. It was made with the most delicious fingering weight yarn in turquoise and black from this Etsy shop - My Colorful World

And finally a little Prayer Chest to include in my Doily Exchange to Chris. I found this pattern at Jean Maries Patterns I made mine in yellow with coffee colored trim using scrap yarn and a toggle button to lift off the top. I added a few prayers in for Chris - I do so hope she likes it! Sorry the pics are a bit fuzzy - I hoped to get betters ones but it's already packed and ready to ship.

Potholders and Doiles

I finally got the camera working again and someone to help me take pics. The first is the newest potholder that I received in my exchange. This one is from Temberley - it's a beautiful sunflower!

The next is also a potholder it's one I made for my Heart Sister - Martha! It was made with Cotton Yarn in the variegated color Meadow! The pattern is from Priscilla's Crochet

Next is the doily I made for my exchange partner and friend Chris. It was made with Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton - the color is Maize.

And last but not least - I finally got the refill of the starch I needed so I was able to starch up the Christmas Tree Doily I made in October of last year!

Jazzie Scarf and Snowflakes

I made a bunch of snowflakes to add into a lot of my Christmas cards this past Christmas. One of my friends, Barbara from church, asked if I would make some more for her to have for this year. So I made up a bunch of her. They are made of Aunt Lydia's thread in white and soaked in a glue/water solution and allowed to dry flat. That stiffens them up to be hard and flat and I added a ribbon for hanging. It was a nice restarting project for me to work with thread - I had not done thread work in a while and I am so enjoying it again!

And this is my version of the Jazzie Skinny Scarf. The pattern is super easy and can be found at:

I made this scarf with the most delicious 100% cashmere recycled yarn. I purchased it at this etsy shop - she has stunning yarns! All made from recycled clothes and they are all beautiful to work with. I didn't want to even remove the yarn from the wrapper - just wanted to hold it to my cheek -it is so so so so so soft!!!

Potholders, Potholders, Potholders!

I am on a great group on Yahoo called - Sunday Afternoon Hookers - we are a small group of women and a few men that love to crochet! Currently the group is running a Potholder Exchange. You made a potholder a month and send it to the recipient of the month. There are six months in the exchange and six people involved in the exchange. So on one of the months I am the recipient! This month - February - I am it! So far I have received two lovely potholders. This first one is from Natalie - it's beautiful! The picture only shows the Pink side of the heart but on the other side it is Red.

The second one I have received is from Elaine - it is lovely - the star in the middle is white with silver thread running through it.

Edinburg Wrap

Here is my newest completed project. The pattern is called Edinburg Wrap - I purchased it on Ravelry. The creator did hers in yellow and red with black trim. I did mine in Red Heart Super Saver Yarn - colors were Paddy O'Green, Royal Blue and Black - these are the colors of my husband's Irish Clan. This the first time in a long time I did crocheting on top of an already finished piece - the black to make it look like a plain was fun to re-learn! I enjoyed it and will definitely be willing to do another one! I think it came out rather well. I'm very happy with it - I made is slightly longer than her pattern called for to make it fit me better.

I am so EXCITED - doesn't even begin to say how excited I am. I am a tester - a humble tester - yes I am - for a crochet and knit pattern designer. No, I don't knit but I do crochet. Donna - SmoothFox - is her name and she used my picture of my blanket that I made testing her pattern! LOOK LOOK LOOK - I am so excited, so pleased, so humbled - her work is lovely and to be recognized for what I did out of just sheer enjoyment is beyond a treat for me!!

A Shawl and a Scarf

So I'm uploading my most "proud of" projects! A shawl and a scarf!!!

This first is the shawl - it is called the Diamond Lattice stitch - the creator called it the pattern a Prayer Shawl. The pattern is free at:

Now onto my newest projects!

I have been testing again for Donna - it is called Cutie Pie. Donna's blog is at http://smoothfoxlover.blogspot.com/ This one was a square for testing and as soon as I finished the first square I had to make a baby afghan. It is soft pink, mint green and light chocolate - all Red Heart Yarn. I single crocheted the blocks together with the light chocolate. It is 4 squares by 8 squares and measures just about 18" by 36" - sized for a crib.

My second finished project is a 50" long 65 Diamond Point Afghan. I have had this pattern in my stash forever - it it my "go-to" pattern when making a simple yet lovely afghan. I did this one in Vibrant Orange and trimmed in white - both Red Heart yarn. It was made for a friend of Kathy's at her work - she really likes it! She is a BIG UT Volunteer fan! Hence the orange! The picture looks a little pink on some browsers but it is orange.

And my last finished project - which took forever!!! Is Harry's snuggie. It was done in that blue camouflage looking yarn from Red Heart. This was a free tear off pattern sheet from Red Heart yarn. It is similar to the snuggies on TV. A blanket with arms - but all in double crochets! It's warm and nice and he is wearing it either way on the front wrapped around him, or on his back with the opening in the front to walk around the house! I think he likes it!

Testing of Baby Spiral Blanket and Smaller Stuff

The first item I have been working on was a test of a pattern for Donna. Donna's blog is at http://smoothfoxlover.blogspot.com/

The test was a Baby Spiral Blanket - she allowed the testers to make it as large or small as they wanted. I liked it so much while creating it I made it 55" across and made it into a lapghan for myself! I used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Country Blue and Light Raspberry - used just under two skeins each. The Country Blue was leftover from my heart neice's afghan and the Light Raspberry from my other heart neice's daugthers afghan! Harry said it looked a little like Tootie Frutie ice cream with those colors!

I did it black and white stripes - for a very nice lady.

Still have a lot in the "to do" pile but that is an always pile too! Thanks for looking!

Teddy Bear - First Attempt!

I finally tried a teddy bear. This pattern comes from planetjune.com - it was a pattern I purchased. He was made with Lion Brand Fun Fur in Copper. He has velvet button blue eyes and a black velvet nose. He just got delivered to my friend's grand-daughter.

I am having fun creating all these crocheted items - keeps me busy, active and out of trouble! My newest projects are below - would love your comments on them!

Baby Hat and Mittens. I got these patterns off the web - they are just too cute! I made them both with Bernat baby soft yarn. This is for a lady in our church who just adopted a little girl - she is about 3 months old and so precious!

These are little "blueberry" bags - that was the name of the pattern. So cute - great for a small gift, potpourri, a trinket bag, etc. I just used some leftover yarn for this - it was fun to play with the colors and do different parts of the bag in different colors.

The next is a walker tote bag - it fits over the front rails of the walker - and is small, cute and holds whatever you might like to carry in it - a book, deck of cards, phone, pen and pad, etc. I hope to make a bunch of these to donate to the nursing home my sister in law, Kathy, works.

The last new item for this bunch is a set of wrist warmers for my friend Martha. They will match her shawl - made in Pound of Love yarn in antique white. They are warm, elegant and very soft. She works in an old mill building that has been refurbished - so it's a bit cold in New Hampshire with those old buildings - these wrist warmers and the new shawl should keep her warm and toasty!

Now onto the great news - Kathy entered a raffle for her BARC group. The group does rescue of Bernese Mountain Dogs - she won! A lot of nice things - but this one is a pleasure for me. It is hand spun yarn made from Bernese Mountain Dog fur - I am working with Kathy now as to what does she want me to make with it. The first picture is when I first unwrapped the package and the second picture is when we unraveled it to roll into the ball - it's soft and lovely and feels like petting a puppy!

My newest creations in Crochet

I am so excited that I have finished a few more projects. The first one is a lapghan. I made it modifying a pattern in a magazine. It was shown made in strips and I couldn't seem to get my strips to be the same size - so I did it in rows. I call it Fall Pineapple! It was made with Red Heart Yarn in cornmeal, teal and carrot. I love the colors. This was a gift for a lady at church that just got a new home. Her husband is in the National Guard and her son too!

The second creation is a shrug - It is in baby soft white yarn from Bernat. It is so so soft and luxurious on your shoulders. It is supposed to be a one size fits most. So far, on a small person the arms seem too long - but you could fold them over. A medium or large size seems to fit fine. I am going to work on another one and try to modify it to make it plus sized for me.

The third creation I finished is a baby blanket. This was made with Bernat baby yarn in berries in cream color. I thought it looked pretty with the yellow and pink. It is very lacy and delicate.

The fourth creation I finished is another baby blanket. This one was made with Red Heart Baby Yarn in soft pink. It is very warm and soft. I had seen a pattern with hearts and then another pattern with x's and o's. So I thought what would they look like together? And this is what I created.

The fifth and final creation is a mistletoe ornament. I am in an ornament exchange with a lady on one of my crochet groups. She will send me a hand made ornament and I will send her one back. This is my first ornament creation. I was excited to create an ornament.

Happy Halloween - Our New Front Porch

This is our new Front Porch - Kathy and Harry finished this much of it about a month ago - it will go all the way out to the edge of the house and around the corner to meet the back porch. They are doing it in 10 foot sections -this is the first ten feet! So, of course, I got to decorate it! WHOO HOO! It' not exactly how it will be when the porch has the railings and all but for now it's so cool to have it where I can enjoy it as well as the doggies can't get to any of it!

Maines Hans T Bear

Hello All,

Just wanted to share something special with all of you. As some of you know my Sister in Law, Kathy, my husband - her brother, Harry and I all live together on on mini farm in East Tennessee.

Well Kathy has had Bernese Mountain Dogs forever as far back as I have known her. Most are rescues from puppy mill seizures but there were a few here and there that came from reputable breeders. Her first puppy, Maines Hans T Bear - affectionally known as Hans was her biggest, her sweetest and her friend! And I say this with all the confidence in the world! He was 157 pounds a big teddy bear and so so so gentle! He loved everyone and would not have hurt a fly, unless......you attempted to hurt Kathy! And then I'm not to sure what would have happened! All he ever did was push the person out the way when something did happen! Well Kathy lived alone for a while and she has a heart condition. Well, of course when you are alone, the worst happens! Kathy had a heart attack! Hans washed and licked and petted at her until she came out of it and then when she opened her eyes and looked at him he brought her the phone!!! Hans saved her life! And when the paramedics came he let them in and just sat next to her with paw on her! You can't tell me he wasn't her friend!!!!

Well I loved Hans as did everyone who met him - he is no longer with us now but is always a great memory. Well I took Kathy's favorite puppy picture of him and commissioned a watercolor portrait!

Well the artist has become over the past year a friend of mine and adore her work! On her blog a while back she did "in progress" photos of one of her works of art - so I asked her, of course, if she would do this for me in this portrait. Well she did and the finished product as well as the "in progress" works of art at on her blog and I had to share!

Cake Recipe

Pineapple Pumpkin Walnut Cake

This cake resembles a spicy carrot cake. You can modify the sugars to your own taste - more brown or darker brown for more molasses flavor. If you really love the cream cheese frosting, just double that recipe for a taller layer of frosting. The pumpkin puree can either be homemade or canned. You may also want to modify the spices to your taste... some prefer more spice than others.

Cake Ingredients:

* 1.5 cups walnuts
* 3 cups all purpose flour
* 1.5 cups sugar
* 1 cup light brown sugar
* 2 tsp baking soda
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1.5 TBSP cinnamon
* 1/2 tsp nutmeg
* 1/2 tsp ginger
* pinch of allspice
* 1.25 cups canola oil
* 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
* 1 TBSP real vanilla extract
* 1.5 cups pumpkin puree
* 3/4 cup drained crushed pineapple
* 1 cup golden raisins (optional)
* 1 cup shredded coconut

Frosting

* 3 ounces cream cheese (room temp)
* 3 TBSP unsalted butter (room temp)
* 1.5 cups confectioners' sugar
* 1 tsp real vanilla extract
* 3 TBSP milk

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. LIghtly butter a 9 x 13 baking pan. Line w/ parchment paper along the bottom and sides.

Bake walnuts in a small pan until just lightly toasted (10 minutes) then chop.

In a large mixing bowl, stir flour, sugars, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. Add the oil, eggs and vanilla. Beat using mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add the pumpkin and pineapple. Mix lightly until just combined. Using a spatula, fold in the walnuts and coconut... and raisins if you used them.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top using a spatula. Bake about 1 to 1.25 hours until it is firm in the center or until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer from pan to a wire rack and allow to cool at least 10 minutes.

Frosting:

Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add confectioners' sugar, vanilla and a little of the milk at a time to make the frosting creamy. Spread frosting on cooled cake.

Life and it's ups and downs

Life is such a trip! Easiest way to put it! I am playing with government forms and lovely government yuck is the only way to put it. Why do they ask the same question 47 times in 47 different ways? Are they trying to catch me? Are they just bored? Who thinks up these forms????? Never mind legal ease - I need a psychiatrist just to answer a question!

Making difficult decisons lately - and hurting about all of them. Left my prayer chain at church - just felt it a burden. And praying should never be a burden. Also told the pastor that I am unable to continue doing the presentation at the moment for Sunday Celebration Services. Just feel lost and confused and need to step back from responsibilities for a while and decide what's best for me. If I sit still - Yes God I am listening - and actually listen to what He says - Maybe I'll get it! Because lately I'm feeling overwhelmed with responsibilites and have no time for me. Praying for peace, decision making and help with guidance in this red tape nonsense.

Ups, downs, in betweens, etc - it's all out there and in here too - I just need to find the right track for me and get on it!

The Generosity of Children

My heart is full - so full it's about to burst. Our church, small in size - but HUGE in heart - invited a group of children from a Florida based christian school up her for a mission trip. They were to work on needs in the community. One need was a member of our church who is having a baby, and needed to redo a room to have space for the baby. Another member a single mother with three boys needed some repair work to her home done - her roof, insulation and siding. And my family - of which I didn't know this was going to happen - got a new deck and a new wheelchair ramp for me! I am thrilled beyond words. These children did almost all of the work - of course, at their age - teenagers - they are not permitted to use electric tools. But they ripped our old porch and stairs/ramp and helped nail down and measure the boards. They were friendly, open, very sweet and worked very hard. Our church also had them to services on Sunday and to a dinner after church. They say they want to come back as they we very welcomed here and enjoyed the friendship and fellowship. I hope they do and I would love to go to visit them as well in Florida. Our church has some pictures of the event at www.disciplespoint.org - enjoy! God's Blessings on those lovely children!

Well you be the judge. I think they are crazy. My husband shaved his head a bit ago, and now likes the look. Actually, don't tell him, but so do I! And now with my sister-in-law going to have surgery on her arm and hand, she did it again (yes, she has done this in the past). This time at least it makes sense, since working with her hair with her arms after surgery is going to be a problem - but they are still crazy!

The Merry Maines - A Shaggy Cat Story

I just read the most incredible cat book! While I wholeheartedly have enjoyed the Warrior Series - this book is more from the home and hearth. It touched me deep within my heart of hearts. I adore cats and have always felt that they are communicating. The Merry Maines - A Shaggy Cat Story - put the words out there for the cats and for the cat lovers as well. I deeply appreciated the cat knowledge as well as the sheer fun of the story. Bad guys, good guys, and that was just within the cattery! If you have a love of cats, books, mystery, fun, anything you will find it in this book. A sheer pleasure from the first page. I can't wait for the sequel to see what the gang has been up to! I give it 5 PAWS UP!!!!

Hi there Merry Christmas Eve! I love today, relaxing and all the family around. Well usually. I am missing Dad today. He is in SC and I am in TN - not far but too far for my needs and wants today.

Well I've got two layouts to share today. The first one is from my friend over at Scrapping 'Til Dawn. She makes the greatest layouts for me to play with in PSP. I haven't visited her in a while, but I did these pay few days and grabbed some new things. I can't wait to share them layouts. The template for this one is called Broken Arm. She is doing a Boo-Boo series! I LOVE IT! I moved some things around from her original template, to make it work for what I wanted to do with the little boy for the tag. I know she is happy when people make it there own - and I love working with her stuff! So easy and fun to play! Here is the first one:

Kathy and her Supervisor

My sister in law, Kathy, helps a lady that breeds Maine Coon Cats. Well this picture is a perfect example of what Kathy does. She was preparing to give the first shots to the newest litter of kittens and she had a supervisor! Miss SnowBerry decided to see what Kathy was doing. She checked out each needle, each bottle as it was put down and even sniffed Kathy's hand at one point. We think Kathy must have done well, because SnowBerry didn't object and watched intently. If only all supervisors were so quiet and so adorable!

Kathy's Halloween Costume

Now some of you know this but my crazy sister in law, Kathy, works at a Hospital in the cafeteria as a Cook. She really enjoys working there. Well one of the things they can do is dress up for Halloween! So.....of course....Kathy did! She dressed up as a Zombie Doctor. She wore a green surgery smock, and we spray painted her hair green and SPIKED it! She carried Calla Lillies and blacked her face. When she got to work she was going to put on a mask. We took a few pictures of her here on the couch! She looks so cool in person. Hope you all laugh as much as we did. And we all hope her co-workers and anyone who sees her in the Kitchen laughs too!

What a title that is! GIGGLING Well I have been in and out of it recently. Lots of pain, having doctor appointments all over the place and such. And I got laid off from my job! So things are weird right now. But even with all of that I have to play sometimes! So I made Spaghetti and Meatballs Cupcakes!!! Here are some pictures of them!

As always thanks to the generosity of Scrapping 'Til Dawn. I will never be able to thank her for her overwhelming generosity and creativity! These have been fun. So far the ones I am choosing to do are for friends. The layouts shown here show pictures that they took. I have removed the personal pictures that they asked me to remove before posting them on my blog.

The first one is of Acapulco. She goes back every year!

The second on is of Copenhagen. This one was special because my Dad visited here during his time in the Navy. This picture is one from a friend when she visited.

The third one today is of Glasgow. This one was fun too with the picture that a friend took when she visited there years ago. She was thrilled with the layout when I presented it to her.

The fourth one today is of London. This was cool to do as well. The picture is one a friend took years ago.

The fifth and final one for today is of Venice. This was really special to do. The friends took this picture ages and ages ago when they visited and they were so happy to get it done up in a layout that they can keep forever.

Memories - Friends and Relationships

Hi everyone! I wanted to show you all what I made with recently. And I have some sweet sweet people to thank for their lovely shares. I got the graphic on a group I am on called Women for Jesus Who Love PSP! They are the sweetest bunch of women and share from their hearts. And the layout I used is from As the generosity of Lori - here blog is at Doodles By Lori. She shares many many freebies and this particular set comes in some lovely colors. I immediately thought of this graphic when I saw them! Thank you, Lori, from the bottom of my heart your for generosity in sharing your creative talents. I am handicapped and use a wheelchair often (I hardly ever find wheelchair related graphics) and finding this graphic a while back I honestly didn't know what to do with it. The minute I saw this set I knew! This is my version of your set with that graphic. The tag in my mind shows the past memories and the future memories of two good friends regardless of their physical differences. My best friend, Martha, is a rock to me with my disabilities and never ever has made me feel disabled or useless in any way. It is fabulous to have the type of friendship that we have and I feel truly blessed by it.

While I, of course, thank Lori and the sweet women at Women For Jesus....the biggest thanks I can muster and the most mentioned in my prayers is my buddy, Martha. Our memories together in the past, present and future keep me focused and proud to call you my friend.

Well I thought I was going to post the USA template that I used for Scrapping 'Til Dawn's design - but I'm having difficulties with it. Just my own stubborn brain doesn't like what I've done and I keep changing it. So, I've taken a break from it and I've moved onto some of her Cities of the World. I do not plan on doing them all, but I have chosen some ones I knew some things about and also did some up for friends and family who have visited. My versions are below. As always thanks to the generosity of Scrapping 'Til Dawn I got to play in PSP!

The first one is Rome! I made this for a friend, she loves the Trevi Fountain and has visited it many times! In her version I added a picture of her - but she asked me not to include on it my blog. So this one is just of the fountain.

The next one I did was of Paris. I used snapshots a friend took - she really enjoyed this layout.

And the lsat one for today is Cancun. Again using photos from a friend.

This template comes from Tracy at Tracy's Scraps. It was lovely to work with and I enjoyed it immensely. The scrap kit I used came from Crystal at Scrappy Inspirations Isn't it pretty? And the lovely lady comes from Mitch Foust! He is a fantastic artist and allows you to use his work with credit to his website for free without massive changes to his work. I thank everyone for feeding my frenzy for working in Paint Shop Pro!

The Last of the 50 States Series - I'm sad!!!

I'm sad this is done actually. It was so much fun travelling around my computer into the 50 States! We live in a beautiful country and this trip really helped me to remember that! My heartfelt thanks to the generosity and sweet sweet spirit of Scrapping 'Til Dawn. She is one of the best template creators! I love her ideas and her gifts to us! Well onto the last of the 50 States Templates. I will now be working on her United States Template! It's beautiful!

Well let's see....where to start???? MMMM.......I've been nominated for an award!! HOW COOL IS THAT? It is called Brillante Weblog Premio 2008 Award! The sweet lady who I have received all these lovely templates from - got this award for her great blog! She has nominated me and others on her website! WOW - isn't that the coolest? WOW - I have a second post for today! I wanted to also get out my next bunch on the 50 State Series I am doing using the templates on Scrapping 'Til Dawn.

I have really enjoyed my trek across the country, if only on my computer! This has been a joy to do and I'm actually getting a bit depressed that it is almost done. I am handicapped and traveling is not necessarily easily for me; so this trip on the internet to the 50 United States has been so wonderful!

WOW - I am in awe of the awesome win for the Boston Celtics. What a great game, what a great team. I am so happy for them and all of us fans. While my physical being is in Tennessee, my heart and soul will always belong to the New England Teams. I grew up loving these teams and the players and coaches.

First Bible Study in a LONG TIME

WOW - Harry, Kathy and I went to our first Bible study in FOREVER last night. We have joined a new church - it's sort of an out-take of the one we were in - way different - but I'll explain that later. Well we had our first Bible Study last night! So cool! Harry and Kathy actually shared! It's going to be a fun class - I know it! Continue to keep Harry and Kathy in your prayers for their job search to be fruitful.

This is just my opinion - but I have always, and will forever Love The New England Patriots! Regardless of their stunning loss at the Superbowl this year. It was a wonderful season and they all should be proud! New York fought hard and so did New England. The rivalry will be forever between Boston and New York. But 18 and 1 is still a FABULOUS SEASON! GO NEW ENGLAND! We all love here, even here in Tennessee!

Now onto to some other cool stuff.....I was asked to make sure I watched the pre-game show. I hate the chatting and all but I did as I was told. WOW is all I can say - this commercial ROCKED!!

Miss Belle

It is with a heavy heavy heart that I post this message. My sister in law, Kathy, has suffered a severe loss. Her rescued Bernese Mountain Dog, Miss Belle, went ahead of us to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday afternoon. She had just turned 8 years old in October of 2007. She had been with us just barely two years after her rescue from a puppy mill. She had many many litters of puppies before being cast aside in this mill. In the past two years she had come out of her shell and was so loving, so warm, and adored everyone. She was doing so well. With a few other personal items going on Kathy's life - this has been devasting to her and to us. Please keep Kathy in your thoughts and prayers for the peace and understanding of God's Will to envelope hper.
